Veena forces police to register case against Asif

Actress Veena Malik on Tuesday allegedly pressurised SHO Mohammad Abid of the Ghalib Market Police Station for the registration of an FIR against her former friend cricketer Mohammad Asif.
Reportedly, the thespian desired to get registered a fraud case against Asif, but the police flatly refused to do so as they had already been restricted by a court stay-order from doing the same.
Veena repeatedly forced the police to register case against Asif, which the police claimed was a fake one. The police investigators told her that they would have to check the nature of the plea before registering any FIR.
“She was in a hurry and intended to seek illegal favour from police,” SHO Abid said while talking to The Nation. He further said that in a situation when the police had already received a stay order, they needed to inquire the situation from both the parties and then they could reach a decision whether to register case or suggest some other alternative. He said that police were bound to obey the court orders, adding that in special circumstances they were authorised by the court to collect evidence from both the parties.
The SHO said that according to Veena, Asif borrowed over Rs 10 million from her when his career was in jeopardy over doping allegations in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and when he lost favours with the PCB following his detention at Dubai airport for carrying an illegal drug.

Asif Gives In To Veena’s Charms

Pakistan’s controversial fast bowler Mohammad Asif has become the latest cricketer to fall for an actress after the cricketer tied the knot with film and TV actress Veena Malik in London. “The marriage took place on May 28 in London with the couple quietly slipping out of Islamabad,” national media reported recently. Quoting reliable sources, the reports have said that Asif has assured Veena to make the marriage public once his cricket career is back on track and he is selected in the Pakistan team for the forthcoming ICC Champions Trophy in South Africa. Asif is presently serving a 12-month ban for failing a dope test in the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) last year.
Asif was also fined Rs one million by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for possessing opium that landed him in 19 days of detention at Dubai Airport. However, the PCB has made it clear that the cricketer would be considered for the Champions Trophy. The reports also said that Veena has footed the bill of the legal expenses incurred by Asif fighting his recent cases related to the IPL dope test and Dubai detention. All said and done, both Asif and Veena however, have denied this development. Watch this space for more…
